7th Saga is a SNES RPG notorious for its unforgiving difficulty in that monsters are brutally difficult and the heroes stats dont rise particularly generously with their levels. It is not widely known, however, that 7th Saga is the localized version of Elnard, the Japanese incarnation of this game which is much, much easier by comparison. This IPS patch restores the monster stats of Elnard to the US 7th Saga and also modifies the mechanics of player leveling such that the player will now gain stats as he or she would in Elnard, making the games difficulty level much more reasonable. Additionally, confrontations with the rival apprentices in this game are now properly balanced, an oversight in the localized version.
Its a Hack to 7th saga.

Among its many flaws, one weakness of The 7th Saga was that the characters were almost carbon copies of each other, limiting replay value. In this hack, based on the improvements already made in my 7th Saga Redux hack, the characters have been given familiar classes based on Final Fantasy 1, with different stats and spells. Because this version can be played with minimal grinding, its a lot easier to try out each class and learn its unique playing style.
The classes:

RedMage (Kamil): Well-rounded in all areas Fighter (Olvan): Tough physical warrior with healing magic Bl.Mage (Esuna): Powerful offensive mage Bl.Belt (Wilme): Expert in unarmed combat Robot (Lux): The ultimate defensive tank Wh.Mage (Valsu): Healing and support mage Thief (Lejes): Master of stealth and sabotage

The 7th Saga, called Elnard in Japan, is a role-playing video game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. The player chooses one of seven playable characters, all of whom separately embark on a quest to locate seven magical runes. As the player progresses through the game from one town to the next, they encounter the other six characters on multiple occasions. The player may partner with one of the other playable characters to fight as a team, and they may also fight against other playable characters for the runes. Notable unique innovations include the use of a crystal ball "radar" that allows players to see enemies approaching their character in dungeons and in the overworld. This means that combat is not totally random, as players may theoretically avoid enemies (although enemies move extremely quickly and randomly, making combat difficult to avoid). The game also uses Mode 7 graphic effects to create the transition between exploration screen and battle screen. The game is particularly known for its unforgiving difficulty due to balance changes made in its localization; enemies were given much higher stats, and the player characters stat increases were reduced (the other playable characters retain the original stat increases, so they will always surpass the player characters level).

A Super Mario Thing (ASMT) is a collaboration hack created by users of Raocows Talkhaus and lead by yoshicookiezeus. It was released at SMWCs C3 in Spring 2010. The game stars Demo, an armless cycloptic demon alien minion (created by LPer Raocow), caught in the middle of a conflict in the Mushroom Kingdom after her teleporter warped her there while at the same time losing it. The game has Demo venturing to defeat King Charles and to get her teleporter back so she can return home. As ASMT is modeled closer to Japanese-style hacks and was created for Raocow, difficulty is considerably higher than the average hack that would normally be found on SMW Central. Reception to the game has been mixed, with people praising the increased challenge, music, and various gameplay gimmicks, while other have criticized the hack for it fluctuating difficulty.
